Categorizing  Charles Manson somewhere between petty thief/ career criminal/harbinger of a murderous agenda is to ignore the fact that he supported himself in the same ways that most starving artists support themselves while chasing there passion. Any popular musician has done a variety of sketchy things to get by before there big break comes.

He was convicted of the murders through the joint-responsibility rule, which makes each member of a conspiracy guilty of crimes his fellow conspirators commit in furtherance of the conspiracy’s object. It was implied in court that members of the ‘Manson Family’ committed multiple murders as a result of Charles’s influence.

Since then, his influence has been appropriated in other ways. Remember, once is a coincidence, anything more than that, one would have to suspect that  influential artists are gong out of there way to pay tribute to not only the style, but to the philosophy as well.

Does anyone believe that if these episodes took place today, in day and age where Casey Anthony can saunter about, that Charles would be convicted of anything?

  1. Manson is a nut.
He is crazy and people laugh at him.
The guy is a waste of space.
